₱12,000 is now our recommended starting point

MaidProvider.ph now recommends monthly salaries starting at ₱12,000, adjusted for the role, experience, responsibilities, and working arrangement.

Effective August 1, 2026

Current recommendation
₱12,000+

A recommended monthly starting point, adjusted for the role, experience, responsibilities, and working arrangement.

MaidProvider.ph had set ₱12,000 as a required placement minimum. Effective August 1, 2026, that policy changed.

The intention was sound. We wanted to protect household professionals from being offered compensation that did not reflect the value of their work, and we believed a firm floor was the clearest way to do that.

On reflection, one company-set number could not fairly account for how much these roles differ. What was designed as protection became too rigid for the range of households and professionals we serve.

Families and household professionals should agree on compensation that reflects the work performed, while continuing to comply with the applicable legal minimum and employment framework.

What changed

Before

Company-required minimum

MaidProvider.ph required an agreed monthly salary of at least ₱12,000 for placements it facilitated.

Effective August 1, 2026

Recommended starting point

MaidProvider.ph recommends monthly salaries starting at ₱12,000, with the final amount determined by the role and working arrangement.

Why we changed the policy

Household roles are not interchangeable. A live-in kasambahay, an experienced newborn-care professional, a family driver, a caregiver, and a live-out household professional may carry different responsibilities, schedules, experience levels, and market expectations.

The better standard is a clear agreement that reflects the work performed.

How compensation should be determined

Our recommendation begins at ₱12,000. The appropriate salary may be higher—or structured differently—depending on the engagement.

Role and scope of duties
Experience and specialist skills
Responsibilities and household complexity
Working arrangement and schedule

Fair pay reflects the role, the working arrangement, and the work itself.

What has not changed

Our position on fair employment remains the same. The agreed salary should be documented clearly, paid completely and on time, and provided without hidden agency deductions. Household professionals should understand the role before accepting it, and families should understand the full employment cost before placement.

MaidProvider.ph will continue to advocate for compensation that supports stable, respectful, and sustainable household employment.
