Why We Created The Maid Pro

Moving Beyond the Traditional Agency Model

Human+ Editorial

For years, the phrase "maid agency" has meant one thing: a quick placement, a stack of papers, and very little support afterward.

In a world where households are more complex, schedules tighter, and trust more important than ever, that model is no longer enough.

At MaidProvider.ph, we created The Maid Pro to offer something different: a more thoughtful, professional approach to household staffing. This isn't a cosmetic rebrand. It's a deliberate shift in how we think about the people who care for our homes—and the families who welcome them in.

The Limits of the Traditional Agency Model

Household staffing is a low-trust, high-risk category. Yet the traditional agency approach often looks like this:

  • Purely transactional – The goal is to place someone quickly, with limited attention to long-term fit or follow-through.

  • Minimal screening – Basic checks at best, leaving gaps that can put families at risk.

  • Unprofessional framing – Domestic work treated as "unskilled," which erodes respect, encourages churn, and hurts both workers and employers.

Our clients—busy professionals, expat families, and discerning households—aren't just looking for "help." They're looking for stability, safety, and thoughtful support inside their homes.

Introducing The Maid Pro: A Different Standard

A Maid Pro is not simply a "maid" in the old sense of the word.

They are a Household Professional—someone selected and supported under a clear standard that emphasizes safety, professionalism, and sustainable working relationships.

That standard rests on five core pillars.

1. Our 7-Step Screening

Behind every Maid Pro is a structured screening process designed to give you a more informed, safer choice for your home. We don't rely on a single document or quick interview; we move through seven deliberate steps:

Step 1: Medical & Health Check

We work with accredited diagnostic centers to check for fitness to work and key health risks. The goal is reasonable assurance that your family's health will not be unnecessarily exposed.

Step 2: Psychological Screening

Where requested and appropriate, candidates may undergo psychological evaluation by licensed professionals. This helps us assess basic temperament and suitability for a home environment.

Step 3: Genuine Government Documentation

We require fresh, verifiable government clearances (NBI, police, barangay, and authenticated birth records where needed), obtained directly from official sources. This reduces the risk of fake or outdated documents.

Step 4: Experience & Education Profiling

We go beyond "years of experience." We look at the kind of work they've done, the households they've served, and relevant education, seminars, and skills—so we can better match them to your specific needs.

Step 5: Attitude & Work Ethic Assessment

Through interviews and reference checks, we look for basic qualities like respectfulness, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback. We know that skill can be trained, but attitude is critical.

Step 6: Risk-Based Background Investigation

For higher-risk profiles or where more information is needed, we may verify addresses, contact past employers, and conduct additional checks. We adjust the depth of investigation based on the potential risk, always with your safety in mind.

Step 7: Hands-On Training & Orientation

Before deployment, candidates receive practical guidance and training based on our internal standards and training manual. This is designed to help them adjust more smoothly to your household's expectations.

2. Training in Professional Protocols

We believe domestic work is skilled work.

Where appropriate and available, Maid Pros may receive guidance and training in areas such as:

  • Basic household etiquette

  • Clear and respectful communication

  • Practical tips for working in busy, executive, or expat households

This support helps them adapt more smoothly to your home and better understand your expectations—while recognizing that every family and every worker is unique.

3. A Focus on Longer-Term Fit

We look for candidates who are interested in more stable, longer-term roles, not just temporary arrangements. That focus helps to:

  • Reduce the stress of frequent turnover

  • Build trust between household and worker over time

  • Encourage a more professional, career-minded attitude toward domestic work

At the same time, we recognize that no working relationship is static. Your relationship with a Household Professional can change over time for many reasons—shifts in attitude, changing family needs, health, stress, or even the home environment itself. We don't promise that every match will be perfect forever. What we aim to provide is structure, communication, and options when circumstances evolve, so issues can be addressed as early and as fairly as possible for everyone involved.

Our aim is not simply to "fill a vacancy," but to help create working relationships that have a real chance to last—while being honest that people and situations can and do change.

4. Legal Compliance and Fair Treatment

From recruitment to placement, our process is designed to align with the Kasambahay Law (RA 10361) and relevant regulations.

We assist with:

  • Proper contracts and documentation

  • Compliance with SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions

  • Clear expectations for both employer and worker

Professional standards only work if they are fair on both sides. We are not here only to "take care of clients"—we also have a responsibility to the Household Professionals who trust us with their livelihoods.

We believe dignity, lawful treatment, and respect for both parties are essential to sustainable household staffing. Our long-term success depends on arrangements that are workable and humane for families and for the people who work with them.

5. Ongoing Human+ Support

Our role does not end when a Maid Pro steps into your home.

Through our Human+ support, our team and systems are available to provide:

  • Practical guidance on expectations and communication

  • Support in addressing common issues or misunderstandings

  • Options for review or possible replacement when the arrangement is not working out

Human+ is designed to give families a reachable, reasonable point of support—so you don't have to handle concerns completely on your own, while employer decisions and final arrangements remain in your hands. Wherever possible, we also listen to the concerns of Household Professionals, so both sides have a space to be heard.

Investing in Peace of Mind

At MaidProvider.ph, we don't see ourselves as simply arranging placements. We aim to help build trusted, professional relationships inside your home.

This level of care and process comes with a premium placement fee, but we view it as an investment in:

  • Safety – Thoughtful screening and structure around who enters your household

  • Stability – Fewer disruptions and a better chance of continuity

  • Time – More freedom to focus on your work, family, and priorities, instead of constantly managing staffing issues

Since 2009, we have worked with tens of thousands of homes, refining our approach and learning from real families and workers across the Philippines. The Maid Pro standard is the result of those years of experience and iteration.

When you choose The Maid Pro, you're not simply choosing a label.
